Review of Final Destination (2000) by Steve M — 11 Oct 2011
"Final Destination" is the most original horror film in recent years that has a good premise for a horror movie with Death as an ominous force and not some random masked killer offing some poor teenagers.
It gets a little serious sometimes for a movie like this. The death scenes are clever and elaborate with a hint of irony. It does something that horror movies don't usually have: characters you care about if they get killed or not.
Having the presence of adults in a horror movie where kids are getting killed makes it somewhat realistic with FBI having a huge presence in this film.
