Review of Final Destination (2000) by Ridge T — 23 Oct 2012
Ahh, Final Destination, the movie that started the now never-ending franchise. I remember getting this on dvd and not really knowing what this was going into it. So, we meet Alex and his friends fixing to take a huge trip to Paris.
Sounds pretty boring, but then Alex has a vision of him and his friends dying after the plane explodes. He warns them all and he gets some other people off thinking he's just a loony. But then after take off, what do you know, the plane goes BLAM! So a couple months pass and then it happens, they started dying in mysterious 'accidents'.
Come to find out, they were never meant to get off the plane and death is back to finish what it started on the plane. Intriguing, don't you think. This was good, unlike some of the others (The Final Destination).
It was original, I had never seen anything like this and thought, "Hey, this is a good movie and ranks high among my favs". It was gory, interesting story, cool deaths, Tony Todd, and likeable characters.
Even though it had it's flaws, it's still a solid movie and for that 5/5.
