Final Destination came along at a time when post-Scream teen slasher flicks were seemingly coming off a production line. Urban Legends and I Know What You Did Last Summer seemed to do little more than ape Craven's film.
If Final Destination had anything going for it, it was a USP. It was different to the slew of slashers. More than ten years later it has lost some of its surprise value of course and it does at times verge on the ludicrous, but it is still a decent thriller from a time when teen shockers were two a penny.
