Review of Final Destination (2000) by Kyler D — 17 Sep 2012
Good: A good and original idea, portrays death in an interesting manner, kind of like a slasher film-except you can't see the slasher, good deaths, and oh my it's the guy who played the Candyman!
Bad: Pretty bad acting from some.
I have to that Final Destination is one of the better horror movies of the 2000s to me. I really enjoy the concept of Final Destination. Death is a force that you cannot escape no matter what. They portray death as almost an intelligent person that is adept at his job and will do everything to get it done. It is difficult to place this in an exact genre, but this could easily be considered a slasher film. It has the same kind of formula, except you just cannot see the killer. This killer is very good at what he does, as the deaths is this movie are highly enjoyable and creative. Although they do not compare to the deaths of later movies, and just other movies of the time. Just a little trivia, the man who plays William Bludworth is the same guy who played the Candyman! How about that?! On the down side there is some pretty bad acting from some. Overall, a movie that should be watched by anyone interested in horror or looking for a scare.
