Review of Final Destination (2000) by Logan A — 04 Sep 2011
Final Destination is one of the few modern-day horror movies I actually like and care for, but it really is quite underrated. At a time where this premise was actually original, it was a great one indeed.
The execution is solid as well. Sure, like many horror movies, this does have a basic script filled with cheesy dialogue. Not to mention the cast and the acting isn't exactly the kind that is going to win an Oscar.
That said, the story is quite solid, and while it is predictable, it still is interesting to follow. The special effects and the accident scenes are what really steal the show here though. Not to mention Tony Todd has a very interesting character.
