Review of Final Destination 2 (2003) by Josh K — 18 May 2013
The first film was well done and highly original, and this sequel is also well put together. It is also an example of a horror sequel that usually works as a worthy sequel. The film opens the same as the first, this time with a female character having a premonition of a terrible accident on a highway.
The survivors are than targeted by Death and killed off, in the order that they were supposed to die. As usual the deaths are amazing, but the best part of the entire film is the highway scene, which not only appears highly realistic, but is also very gruesome.
This film also makes several great references to the first film, primarily referencing the terrible flight that occurred in that film. In the end, the film works perfectly as a horror film, but also as a good horror sequel.
