Review of Final Destination 2 (2003) by Mary Fritz E — 19 Aug 2009
With next week's opening of The Final Destination, I thought it be good to look back on the strongest entry in the series IMHO. As directed by David Ellis (Snakes on a Plane, FD4) FD2 takes the 'you can't cheat death' formula to another level.
The opening sequence is worth the ticket price alone. A.J. Cook and co. keep the story moving along the slippery slope of near misses and eventual carnage that make the franchise unique to the genre. It's a thrill ride from the get go and while FD3 did perform better at the box office, this entry is solid and the rock from which this franchise built it's popularity.
