Review of Final Destination 2 (2003) by Xevaztian V — 24 Oct 2009
I love the Final Destination movies. This one has that spectacular highway disaster, which is the starter for the movie's plot. I love how it ties itself to the original, both with the numbers on the highway sign and with Ali Larter.
The gore people talk about? Not nearly enough. Not that I want that, but if you want to see real gore, watch Hostel, Hostel 2, See No Evil, and the Saw movies, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(new version).
One of the things I like about the Final Destination movies is that they are 'clean gore'. It's not overly gory or overly gross like it was in Hostel or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. You don't get to see the actual ripping apart of people, the underlying muscle tissue, the eyes being slowly gouged out or torched as in Hostel.
It is suspenseful, creepy, eerie, thrilling, ominous, and keeps you interested from beginning to end.
