Review of Final Cut (1993) by Kevin N — 28 Mar 2011
This is an awful movie made even more sour by the fact that it's bent around a half-brilliant concept. Robin Williams has proven before that he can do dramatic fare and do it well- I very much like his complex performance in 'One Hour Photo'.
Here, however, he tries desperately to make this bad script better and isn't able to do so. Worse still are the performances by his supporting cast, a ramshackle group of stiffies who look and sound as if they haven't quite processed their lines yet.
Perhaps if Omar Naim would have spent another year working on the script it could have been an interesting project, but as it stands this movie is just a half-baked pile of could-have-beens.
