Review of Filth and Wisdom (2008) by John D — 19 Nov 2008
Madonna's first film is an moderate affair. Some ropey acting in scenes, some good performances, some funny scenes. The film feels too rushed and isn't as daring as it could have been. Eugene Hutz is good but not great.
Whoever did the make-up on Richard E. Grant should be shot, he looked like someone in a school play with talcum powder on his hair, although he gives a good performance. A good likable movie, that really doesn't do much, but overall a good start for Madonna.
