If scaring audiences into living a straight-laced life of moderation was the intended effect, Filth does its job to perfection. My only complaint is a jarring split between the amusing recklessness of the first half and the bleak latter in which McAvoy's fast-living catches up with him, removing all the fun displayed earlier.
