This films manages to bring another Irvine Welsh adaptation to life with the same amount of success as Trainspotting. A Scottish Bad Lieutenant that gets more depraved as it goes on. McAvoy is amazing as Bruce Robertson and he manages to make him a despicable human being without turning him into a caricature.
