Review of Filth (2013) by Norberto F — 25 Oct 2014

I really love Trainspotting, so I was interested in another film based on a book from author Irvine Welsh. This film is very funny and very graphic and dark, which means its definitely not for everyone.

There are some very weird parts (the animated credits to say the least) and some scenes don't make a lot of sense, but most of the time this film was a lot of fun and I really rooted to James McAvoy's character (who really shouldn't root for him at all though).

I can totally see why people might dislike this film, but if you like sick and twisted films this one is great. Overall a film that definitely is not for everyone, but one I really enjoyed thanks to its source material, solid direction, and great performance from its lead.
