The UFC is one of the most popular sports today. This flawless documentary recounts how the UFC started, and how it became the phenomenon it is today. Featuring well conducted interviews, this is a well thought out documentary that is a definite must watch for UFC fans.

I've seen quite my fair share of documentary films, and I can honestly say that this is one of the finest documentaries that I have had the pleasure to watch. The film grabs your attention right from the first frame, and is thoroughly engaging.

The film features footage of the early days of the UFC, and you see how it became what it is. The early years of the UFC were absolutely brutal in the way that they showed their events. Anything went, and there were no rules.

However, the UFC would eventually get new management; new owners and they would set a new series of rules and regulations to make the sport of MMA safer. In terms of documentary filmmaking, Fighting for a Generation goes in depth about its subject and offers a candid, unbiased, and straight to the point picture on the rise of this once controversial sport.

Fans will love this film, and casual viewers will also enjoy watching this because it's a well crafted documentary that really shows the passion of the men that brought the UFC to where it is today.

That's rare for a documentary to accomplish; some films of this genre tend to go deep in its subject, but fail to really make an impact because there is something missing. Fighting for a Generation doesn't do that, it is a deeply satisfying viewing experience, and very rewarding one if you've always wanted to know more about the UFC.

My only complaint is that they could have interviewed George "Rush" St-Pierre and Anderson Silva, two of the sport's greatest fighters. Despite this, they have many of the sports key fighters including Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin and of course Hall of Famer Royce Gracie.
