Review of Fighting (2014) by Sean C — 09 Jan 2010
Channing Tatum has never really been a good actor. He signs on movies so all the girls can google-eye his body. Never, does he seem to put effort. But for once, I can say this is a movie I actually enjoyed watching in. He does decent job and probably is the only thing worth watching in this rental-only (DON'T BUY IT) fighting film.
There were some good fights, but between each fight is where the film suffers. The story is half-riddled and feels silly at often times. But the biggest let down is Terrence Howard. An Oscar-nominated actor who seems off-balanced. It's as if it's his first ever movie. But part of his fault is whoever wrote his part. Howard has to feel embarrassed after seeing this entirely on the big screen.
All in all, it's more viewed for a teen looking for action (even though it's minimum). Don't expect anything award worthy or makings of a classic. It steals elements from other movies and feels one-noted. You've been warned.
