I wasn't planning to see this until I found out that this was directed by Dito Montiel. The NY Times praise may have also helped. Montiel helped Tatum nab an Indie Sprit nomination for "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.
" I can see how it might remind some of "Midnight Cowboy" and "Fight Club." The title says everything about the movie. The fighting scenes don't seem choreographed but if they were, I still thought they were organic.
