Fighting was no masterpiece of direction, script-writing or cinematography.
However the performances rang true. Tatum was charismatic in his role, lending a authenticity to Shawn MacArthur. Howard was likable as usual, and the on-screen relationship was neat.
Fighting also had great fight scenes, full of tangible desperation; the fact that Tatum was his own stuntman concreted the portrayal of gritty street-style grappling.
