Review of Fight Club (1999) by Diana J — 21 Jul 2014
This adrenaline soaked thrill ride never tires me out. A bizarre trip infused with unique narrative, great acting, superb cinemotography and loads of fun even after subsequent viewings.
An unnamed protagonist (?) who is starting to feel lackluster over his life starts attending support groups for illnesses which he does not have in order to feel emotion again. When he meets a fellow faker Marla Singer our hero (anti hero?) decides its time to find a different way to infuse meaning into his life.
Enter Tyler Durden who takes the main lead into a world of underground fight clubs and the terrain just gets stranger as we go.
An absolute delight and exercise in egotism, Fight Club does not let up and does not let go even up to the iconic outrageous finale. A modern classic with so many underlying meanings, but above all just a lot of fun.
