Review of Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) by Dante D — 15 Jun 2015
Interesting story with lots of tension and insight but too commercialized and made out to be something completely different than it actually was. I feel like the only reason this was a huge blockbuster was the spectacle of seeing near pornographic images in entertainment and shock value and few (except for me and others who don't really care about nudity) try to see anything beyond that though there still isn't much to ponder over.
Anastasia reminds me way to much of Kristen Stewart's Bella and I just kept on making parallels between the two films. The only thing that saved the sloppy script were the two leads (but as i've already said we've seen this before) and though I liked the tone, pace, and some of the vulnerability it showed, 50 Shades of Grey did not explore a lot of territory that we haven't already seen before and the ending leaves you empty and wanting more, but what I can say is I was mostly entertained till the end.
