It was better than the book, but that isn't saying much. I read the book to see what all the fuss was about and I watched this to see how the hell they were able to make it into a movie without it just being porn.
The answer is a lot less sex. Christian Grey seems like less of a psychopath in this than the book, but he is still, in my opinion, an abuser. I also still don't buy the relationship between him and Anastasia.
I just don't believe a women would go from being a virgin to being in a BDSM relationship just like that. One welcome change is that you do not hear Ana's thoughts. Constantly hearing about Ana's "inner goddess" in the book got on my nerves.
