Review of Fifty Shades Darker (2017) by Kevin A — 13 Feb 2017
This must be the first film released by Universal Pictures featuring Ben Wah Balls and nipple clamps. The sex is a plenty but not the least bit erotic as it seems to act as filler for a gossamer thin story of the "renegotiating" of the relationship of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
Ana now has a real job in publishing and Christian buys anything and everything connected to her so that he can control her and have her all to himself. It's all too labored to connect and there is very little to satisfy, vicariously or otherwise in this flat sequel.
Curiously Christian is always the giver but not the givee when it comes to selfish sexual pleasures. Dakota Johnson moans, bites her lip, grunts and writhes about whenever Christian gets frisky. She even invites a spanking, but none of that stimulates as intended.
The urge to fall asleep right after sex happens throughout the film.
