Review of Fifty Shades Darker (2017) by Justin S — 17 Feb 2017
For a series which is underpinned on the chemistry between the two main protagonists, Johnson and Dornan have absolutely no kind of on screen flare in this dreary attempt to cash in once again on the popular novels of the same name.
50 Shades Darker is not only lacking this, but the progression of the feature as a whole is grossly mundane and the production clunky and ineffective. Any sex scenes (which are surprisingly scarce) fall flat, lacking any charisma, passion or thrill. The viewer is never pulled in and the film fails to invest the viewers in both the characters and the events.
The most adequate summary of this film is as follows: 'the only people getting fucked here are the ones who have payed to watch'.
