Review of Fierce Creatures (1997) by Patrick K — 01 Jul 2010
I will be the first to admit that this film is not as good as a "Fish Called Wanda," but it should not be confused as a "remake" of that film. It's good enough to stand on it's own as a satire of what happens when privitization meets traditionally non-profit ventures.
The film is set in a zoo recently acquired by a Rupert-Murdoch-style tycoon who wants a "20% return all on investments." His new manager, a former cop turned TV-tation-manager, will reach that goal by showing only "fierce animals.
" All others have to go, even if it means shooting them. Not to be missed, and not for the faint-of-heart.
