Review of Fiend Without a Face (1958) by Sgt. C — 24 Jan 2014
1950s Cold War Sci-Fi that begins with local Canadian fears of radiation from a US Air Force Base testing atomic-powered radar and gradually turns weirder. A professor testing his theories of telekinesis seems to have unleashed some horrible invisible creatures that are killing people by sucking out their brains and spinal cords.
When these creatures become visible, the movie becomes gory and grotesque, as the main characters get trapped in a house and have to fight them off with guns and axes. Total schlock with the kind of non-acting you would expect but actually rather a fun ride for the 74 minutes it lasts, capped by a surprisingly scary finale (uh, if you suspend your utter disbelief).
