Review of Field of Dreams (1989) by Victor P — 07 Mar 2013
This is a charming film that just resonates with me on some deep personal level. It is poignant and perhaps for those of us who lost a parent at a young age it just touches something deep inside, has me choked up at the end when when Ray Kinsella gets the chance to meet his father again every time!
There is a quality and atmosphere to the film that reminds me so much of some of John Denvers songs and in some ways the Ray Kinsella character has that same country boy romantic passion JD seemed to have. I have often wondered if Kevin Costner drew in some way on JD's persona when he played this role, probably not! But the round glasses, farm boy 60's feel, Oh! I don't know just feels very JD!
Anyway one of my favourite movies.
