Review of Field of Dreams (1989) by Joseph K — 05 Feb 2011
My mother managed Bobby Richardson's fan club in the 50's and had a baseball television show in the 80's. My Grandfather second wife managed the Reds in the 60's and her first husband is named after the Hutch award for most improved player of the year.
So you can say Baseball runs in the family. But really It's not all about baseball, the sport serves as the backdrop for a story about loss, reconciliation, parents and family, dreams and having the courage to go through them.
Burt Lancaster's sendoff at the end was more of a farewell to an amazing actor. Burt suffered a stroke less than 2 years after and could no longer speak till he past away 4 years later.
