Review of Fido (2006) by Rumtowhiskey — 15 Oct 2008
Amazing and hilarious, "Fido" is like a twisted episode of "Mad Men," a satire of the All-American '50's life...tainted by zombies! The performances here--even those by the kids--are all tongue-in-cheek, but just realistic enough to be frightening.
"Fido" imagines a pretty light-hearted world where zombies run amok, but are controlled and used as pets, and in that light-hearted and happy "Pleasantville" world, there's a lot of dark social commentary just beneath the surface.
This is an astounding film, one that I was surprised was ever made.
