Review of Fido (2006) by Joel J — 21 Oct 2008
Sports fans, I have (surprise) another obscure horror movie to review for you guys that love the witching season as much as me (or those of you bored enough to read my blog). Fido is just down right fun, and don't let the pseudo-intellectual, drama houndin' critics tell you any different. Though not frightening at any moment (none that I remember anyway), this film combines Romero's symbolic zombie social overtones with the feel of a lassie movie and somehow pulls it off. Billy Connolly (Happiness) is just as pedaphyllic and loveable as usual, and the 50's setting gives it an innocent vibe that sets it apart from all other zombie fims I've seen. Can Zombie's truly love? Do they enjoy playing fetch? Can they get erections!?! Tune and find out!!
- 7.5.
