Review of Fido (2006) by Bryan W — 27 Jan 2009
Blessed with a stellar cast to match the script's ambition, the film's better moments are evenly offset by the constantly wavering tone. The actors all wisely take the proceedings more seriously than not, but the production design, score, and direction seem to be at odds with the script and actors.
It's as though the art department, composer and director thought they had the same idea about the tone but managed to be off just enough to make some of the less funny moments uncomfortable.
