Okay, everyone remember the movie Pleasantville? Alright, picture that movie in your head, and then imagine the town of Pleasantville... with zombies. If that sounds like a good movie idea, then watch this movie immediately.
If you think it's a stupid idea, well... you probably couldn't come up with anything better, so see it anyways. This movie is pretty damn hilarious. Fido is set in this 50s-esque "Leave it to Beaver" community.
However, in years past, this town experienced a radiation epidemic where dead people turned into zombies. There was a big zombie war, and after the humans won, they put these control collars around all of the zombies' necks, and now zombies do all of the manual labor around town.
One particular family welcomes "Fido" into their home. However, one day, Fido has a run in with the crabby next door neighbor, and after a violent altercation, the zombie ends up eating the poor old woman.
It's a great story, and the movie is filled with fun 50s ignorance. I particularly loved how the schools were set up where gym class involved going to a shooting range and firing rifles at zombie targets.
Truthfully, this film isn't for everyone. Some will find it a little too... weird. But for those of you who really enjoy horror comedy, you can't go wrong with Fido!
