Review of Fido (2006) by Andy W — 15 Mar 2009
Think 'Lassie' and replace the dog with a zombie. A great idea for a commentary on 1950's paranoid America. As a satire, it works very well - although its more of a cool idea, rather than laugh-out-loud funny.
Reminded me a bit of 'Meet The Applegates', which also dealt with 'wholesome family life in America' - this is fun, but never quite reaches the heights that it should. But they did manage to squeeze in a 'Timmy's in trouble, go get help' gag, so its not all bad.
Awful DVD cover, mind - would probably put a lot of people off - Shaun of the Dead had more horror/gore.
