Review of Fido (2006) by Loucindy W — 18 Sep 2009
It's not often--or at all--when you can use the word 'delightful' when describing a zombie movie but that's exactly what this Canadian take on the undead proves to be. Director Andrew Currie wields a great hand in directing this quirky and delightful tale that makes a subversive and satirical statement about personal and familial life in the nuclear setting.
The cast are a delight (again) with standout performances from young K'Sun Ray as Timmy and an almost unrecognisable Billy Connolly as Fido, the zombie. This is a movie less about the horror and carnage the undead brings--though that is still present--but more about the prospect of living one's life in the face of them.
Highly recommended.
