Review of Fido (2006) by Sheron J — 17 Apr 2010
Very good zombie-comedy movie with all the social commentary it takes to put it high up in the genre. yes, a radioactive cloud is the culprit as far as the cause for an entire zombie population. the zombies are then integrated into the larger society after an initial upheaval and subsequent inventions and new laws.
classism is thoroughly skewered in this film. fido (connelly) is the zombie that comes to belong to a family with a few issues that need to be addressed. a whole chain of events that changes the family and the neighborhood occur after timmy (ray) is careless while in the park with the zombie.
the movie is set in an alternate fifties universe. well done.
