Review of Fido (2006) by Mcgoohan215 . — 05 Nov 2012
Social satire, with zombies.
Fido is set in an alternate universe in the 1950s where zombies are used for domestic roles.
Plotwise it is a bit hit and miss, though the story is set up fairly well it doesn't really go anywhere from the third act on and ends a bit abruptly and ZomCom, the company who utilizes the undead for domestic use, is merely glanced over in the third act and even then we don't see a whole lot the actual facility.
Most of the cast do give decent performances such as K'Sun 'I-can't-believe-it's-not-Macaulay-Culkin' Ray as Timmy and his mother Helen (Moss).
Billy Connolly makes for a convincing zombie and without uttering a single word he is still hilarious.
Some minor characters could have been more interesting if given more screentime. Especially Mr Theopolis (Nelson) and his zombie Tammy (Bennett) as they are by far the funniest supporting characters.
