I watched this one following the advice of a Red Sox fan, and I think that maybe that's a requirement to enjoy it. I like both Barrymore and Fallon and yet watching the two together made me cringe, both for their lack of chemistry and for the stiff acting.
Then you get all these minor plots who don't really do much for the movie, and on top of everything the Red Sox obsession which is more disturbing than amusing. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
