Review of Fetching Cody (2005) by Bobby L — 20 Nov 2009
Imagine The Butterfly Effect if only about going back and changing certain things, not about the effects of doing so. This leaves a strand or two left hanging, but Jay Baruchel, in his first starring role, and playing a lot more serious than he usually does; I hope he does so again very soon, is amazing as the lead.
Sarah Lind is quite good as the love of his life, who goes into a coma from a drug overdose. This sends Jay's Art, to time-travelling, I shall leave you to discover how by yourself, and trying to fix things to get her better and off.
Their relationship is the sole focus with characters only coming in to play into that in some manner. With just this focus, the pain and hurt of the coma and what Art must ultimately do is seriously felt.
