Fertile Ground is a solid ghost flick with lots of goodies and it is one of the After Dark Originals' finest movies but nowhere as good as the other After Dark films like Seconds Apart and Husk. This movie is about a couple name Nate and Emily Weaver who moves to a new house after Emily's miscarriage and when the couple moves to a new house Emily soon discovered that the house is haunted by the people who died in there as her husband starts to act strange and Emily also discovers that she's pregnant.

To be honest I did like the film but I didn't find it as the best After Dark film due to a couple of flaws that the movie suffered and it doesn't capture the magnificent style of Seconds Apart or the intensity of Husk but I did enjoy the movie a lot more over the other After Dark films like 51 and Scream Of The Banshee.

What's great about Fertile Ground is that the whole film is full of atmosphere and suspense and the movie's atmosphere is magnificent and shots at night in the house or outside the house are so eerie and full of atmosphere and I love the way the cinematography was well used in this film even the finale is so atmospheric pretty suspenceful at the exact same time and I overall love the way the style of this film a lot.

What I also like about this film is that the movie is very dark and brooding and the whole film is full of dark tones after a disturbing opening scene and the movie's tones are so effective and gives the film a very dark feel and I love how the ideas of the film are so well used and Adam Gierasch totally nailed his style in this film a lot.

While the last things I like about this film is that the movie is also full of scares and the ghosts itself also looks super creepy and scary and all of the ghosts in this movie are great plus the gore in the movie is so disgusting and nasty and that's also what I like about this movie.

Now the movie suffers from a series of flaws. One of my problems with the film is that the film's editing is too polished. The movie is super slow and its like Director Adam Gierasch has some ideas but totally forgot the whole thing when he's making this movie and lastly the acting in times is mediacore I wished it could have been better and the acting in this movie is overall ok not the best but its ok for one reason.

Director Adam Gierasch managed to do a fantastic job with his work on this movie a lot and he totally did a fantastic work but I wish he could have made the movie even better if it isn't for the film's flaws but he did a fantastic job with the movie.

Overall Fertile Ground gets an 8/10 because this film has a couple of goodies but the movie suffers from a series of flaws and it could have been better for one reason.
