Some have named Ferris Bueller's Day Off John Hughes' best film. I personally find it overrated. Matthew Broderick is so mean-spirited and obnoxious that it's hard to identify with him and even laugh at the gags littered throughout the film.
Maybe if the script intentionally made the central character that way I could like the movie better.
