Ferris Bueller's Day off, written and directed by John Hughes is an instant classic that everyone will love. John Hughes is well know for writing "The Breakfast Club" and the "Home Alone" movies, but Ferris Bueller steals the show. Bueller (Matthew Broderick) fakes an illness to get out of school and seizes the day for what it's worth. After a couple of shots of Ferris' manically boring high school, he calls his loyal friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) who appears to enjoy being sick as much as he is.

"I'm dying" says Cameron.

"No, you just can't think of anything good to do" replies Ferris.

After a lot more convincing than necessary Cameron joins Ferris in getting his girlfriend (Mia Sara) out of school as she apparently has to attend to a funeral of her grandmother. So the trio cruises downtown Chicago in Cameron's dad's prized Ferrari, which he "loves more than life itself". Wasting the day being the last thing on their minds, they go to a baseball game, sneak into a fancy restaurant, and even join into a parade. At all times avoiding the principal (Jeffery Jones) who is on the hunt for Bueller knowing that he cut school and wants to show all the kids who idolize him that he is going nowhere in life, and his sister, Jeanie, (Jennifer Grey) who hates her brother purely for the fact that he gets away with everything.

Ferris Bueller's unforgettable story really touches on a teen's dream of glory and independence. Ferris breaks the rules of society for one day of freedom and fun before he goes off to college and starts his boring adult life. This plot is flawless and very relatable to all of us who just need a day to have fun and escape reality.

The acting is great from Bueller's wise-guy attitude to Cameron's timidness and need for security even to Ferris' sister, Jeanie's , fight for what's right. There is always at least one character you can relate to through out the movie. As the acting is great the directing is even greater. For example the parade scene in which Ferris boards a float and starts singing "Twist and Shout" is classic. The song rages throughout Chicago and people dance in the joy that Bueller spreads.

Ferris Bueller is constantly entertaining. This hilarious movie has no weak points in my opinion, But if your are looking for a plot heavy serious movie this is not for you. Ferris Bueller is light hearted and in my eyes a timeless classic that should be enjoyed by all.
