Review of Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) by Eytan D — 23 Apr 2013
"Bueller? Bueller?" Who hasn't wanted to play hooky from school and go out into the city for the time of your life? Who hasn't wanted to shamelessly get up on a parade float and lip-sync "Twist and Shout"? Who hasn't wanted to see your school principle go through hell to catch you skipping school? Hughes established another iconic name in teen comedy for himself under the name Ferris Bueller.
This is a perfect comedy through and through. It's never mushy in its drama, it's always witty in its humor, and the cast is flawless. "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" gave birth to some great careers in cinema, most importantly the career of Matthew Broderick, even though he already had a few movies on his belt.
This role made him who he is today. One of my favorite movies of all time.
