As far as cliche high school movies go, there is probably not one more hilarious or well written than Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It's goofy, and it knows it, making for an all around great comedy with some good performances, well timed gags, and laugh inducing lines.
The 80's had a way of making these films just right that unfortunately a lot of more modern productions do not. Matthew Broderick and gang completely shine as the ultimate exaggerated high school stereotypes, and on top of that, the shots of Chicago are pretty cool to look at.
