Review of FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992) by Gaelan D — 20 Aug 2009
The animation is inferior to Disney and the plot is absolutely weak. Rather than produce an unwatchable result, when combined with its heart of (Green) gold Fern Gully becomes quite endearing. At the very least its early 90s musical interludes both advance the plot and are begun plausibly.
Better to be a quirky loser than a safe winner, I'll take this over most things post-jungle book. But only when I have to.
