Review of Fermat's Room (2007) by Alex V — 17 May 2013
Four mathematics superstars are mysteriously invited to a warehouse in the woods (this sort of thing happens all the time, apparently), where they are locked in a room in which the walls are slowly closing in and now must solve mathematical riddles while figuring out how to escape. It's a fun concept, even if the film turns out to be less about using math to survive, and more a who-dunnit. Unfortunately, the master plan once revealed, is so flimsy and unlikely to work, that it threatens to sink the entire picture. A taut, if spotty, thriller.
--6.0/10--.
