Although the transition from stage to screen wasn't completely seamless (meaning it felt at times like you were watching a stage play on a big screen) this was a great movie with very strong, committed and absolutely compelling performances from both Denzel Washington and Viola Davis as well as an incredible supporting cast.
Regardless of the stage play feel of the movie, this movie worked and worked well because of great subject matter and the strong cast.
