I never thought anything could match or overshadow Andrew Garfield's performance in Hacksaw Ridge until of course I saw Denzel Washington in this. And if this year's Oscar's become a déjà vu of sorts with Denzel bringing in a double whammy this time with Viola, that would be a very welcome coincidence.

But be warned. Prepare emotionally before watching. This is definitely NOT for a fun night out, or a romantic date, it supports my theory that all top contender films have to be heart-wrenching (except for LOTR).
