The acting in Fences was superb! I truly felt that I was watching a play and not a movie. Not sure if that was bad or good. It left me feeling as if I was missing something. If you're looking for action, you'll get psychological action not physical.
It's a movie you'll have to talk about afterward and discuss the meaning behind building the fence. There was not an overt connection to that piece of the plot. Viola Davis is a master at reinventing herself every time I've seen her!!
