Review of Fences (2016) by Daniel D — 20 May 2017
A little too "stagey" for my tastes with lots of capital "A" Acting and extended monologues. I wonder if Denzel hadn't directed this as well as starring in it, if it would have been edited a little tighter and not been shot so statically -it's essentially the play on film.
However, he is as charismatic a presence as always and Viola Davis is absolutely brilliant.
