"Fences" boasts two of 2016's absolute best performances. They are delivered by Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. They both truly became their characters and carried this movie. I thought the story was good and it definitely felt like a play turned into a movie.
Because of this, the movie is almost entirely sequences of quick dialogue that progresses the story. I was exceptionally impressed by how quickly tense situations got to be with nothing except shifts in dialogue.
This is due to some mesmerizing performances. If you are looking for top notch dialogue and performances, look no further, this is one of the best movies to showcase both of those in a great way.
