Oscar-winning performance by both Denzel and Viola. The movie itself is far from the epitome of modern cinematography, you can sometimes tell it was intended as a theatrical act. Fortunately, "Fences" is not about that.
It's a pure manifestation of incredible acting and gut-wrenching emotion.
