Carried by the acting from all (not just Denzel and Viola) I can certainly understand how the play is as renowned as it is. For myself though I found the low flame of tension throughout to be a drag after awhile.
Watching the DVD I was wondering how far along I was only to discover there was still an hour to go. Great awards film but for entertainment I found it lacking. Denzel's growling at everyone can only take me so far.
